Dietary Aide

Providence is calling a Dietary Aide (LTC Dietary, Day, 0.5 FTE) to Providence Seward Medical and Care Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all ? especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
This position will include 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
In this position you will:
Perform food service duties conforming exactly to the diet needs ordered. Prepare cold food items, snacks and dessert items and nourishment for care center elders and patients.
Assist the Dietary cooks in food preparation as well as cooking various foods, after food certifications are obtained.
Adjust recipes as needed to assure adequate amount of food is made available while minimizing waste.
Clean all food contact areas and cooking utensils ascertaining cleanliness and proper sanitation relative to and in compliance with the HACCP standards.
Sweep and mop the work, dining, storage areas as well as the coolers and freezers daily.
Be responsible for routine cleaning of the refrigerators and dishwashers within the entire facility and logging the date of service on the log sheet provided.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Certification in food safety and sanitation or the ability to obtain within 90 days of date of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
