Patient Care Technician

Providence is calling a Patient Care Technician (Swing Bed, Variable Shift, 0.90 FTE) to Providence Seward Medical Center in Seward, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Perform duties to assist in activities of daily living such as bathing, ambulating, and nourishment.
Record vital signs, I&O, weights, ADLs, meal intake, and other required documentation in an accurate, concise, and timely manner.
Report changes in patient condition, problematic and unusual circumstances to Primary Caregiver and Professional Associates.
Communicate effectively with the RN or other caregivers regarding patient issues, family issues, MD issues, and equipment.
Assist in the patient admitting, transfer, and discharge procedure.
Check and restock supplies and emergency equipment and replaces as instructed.
Maintain and operate multiple pieces of equipment in a safe and effective manner to improve patient care.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School graduate or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of CNA program or 6 months of health care experience
Completed training as a Certified Nursing Assistant
Food workers card, ServeSafe may be required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
